VOX Clock iPhone Alarm Clock App – User Guide

VOX Clock iPhone alarm clock app speaks the time in four languages – English, French, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese. With trendy clock face designs for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, VOX Clock helps you stay on track, on time, in style.



VOX Clock Face

  • Tap VOX Clock’s screen to hear the time.
  • Swipe across VOX Clock’s screen to change the brightness.
  • Touch the Alarm Bell icon to set VOX Clock’s alarm on or off, or change the alarm time and sound.
  • Touch the Announce Time icon to instruct VOX Clock to announce the time on the quarter hour, half hour, top of the hour, or not at all.
  • Touch the Settings icon to display the VOX Clock settings screen.
  • When VOX Clock sounds an alarm, tap the Alarm Off or Snooze button to silence the sound. Snooze will replay the alarm in ten minutes.



VOX Clock Settings

  • Voice: choose Whisper or Normal speaking tone.
  • Language: choose English, French, Japanese or Mandarin Chinese.
  • Alarm: reveal the Alarm Settings screen to turn the alarm on or off, set the alarm time, and choose between the VOX Clock alarm chime or a song from your iPod music library.
  • Announce Time: choose to hear the time announced every 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or not at all.
  • Clock Design: choose from six stylish VOX Clock designs.
  • Keep Visible: instruct VOX Clock to remain visible always, when plugged in, or until the device auto-lock kicks in.

  • Can I wake up to music with VOX Clock?
    Yes! You can choose any song from your device’s iPod music library.
  • What if I don’t have music on my device?
    No problem! VOX Clock has a built-in alarm chime.
  • Will the music alarm play if my iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch auto-locks and sleeps?
    Yes! As long as VOX Clock is the visible app, the iTunes music will play at the alarm time—even if you lock your device or it auto-locks and sleeps.
  • Will the alarm sound if I’m running another app, like a game?
    Yes! The VOX Clock alarm will go off even if you’re running another app (iOS 4 and above). However, due to device limitations, VOX Clock cannot play iPod music unless it is the visible application. In that case, you’ll hear the VOX Clock chime.
  • Will the alarm sound if my iPhone ringer is off?
    Yes, if VOX Clock is the visible app. Perfect for night time when you don’t want to hear phone calls or text alerts but still want your alarm to sound in the morning. However, if VOX Clock is not the visible app when the alarm goes off, it obeys the ringer setting: if the ringer is silent, the alarm is silent.
  • If I choose a whisper voice, will I still hear the alarm?
    Yes! VOX Clock plays the alarm at full volume, regardless of the voice style.
  • How do I control the volume?
    VOX Clock volume is tied to your iPod media player volume. Use the volume buttons on the side of your device to adjust the volume while VOX Clock is speaking.
  • How do I set the time?
    VOX Clock displays the current time in the time zone and regional format specified for your device. Your device’s current time and 12- or 24-hour format can be changed on your system’s General settings Date & Time screen.
  • Can VOX Clock tell time in other languages?
    Currently, VOX Clock speaks English time, French time, Japanese time and Mandarin Chinese time. Additional talking clock languages are coming soon, including Spanish time.
